Baggage allowance on Aegean Airlines

The number of bags, dimensions and baggage fees may vary depending on the type of flight, fare selected and class of service (economy or business).

  • Economy Light, Flex: 0 pieces of baggage.
  • Business: 2 pieces of baggage weighing up to 32 kilograms each, not exceeding 158 cm (62 inches).
  • Miles+Bonus Gold members: 3 pieces up to 32 kilograms each in Business Class, 2 pieces up to 23 kilograms in Economy Flex Class or 1 piece in Economy Light. Size must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches).

Extra baggage is charged separately. It is possible to transport musical instruments and sports equipment. Please check the website for transportation details.

The list of prohibited materials and substances includes:

  1. Homemade alcoholic beverages. With an alcohol content of more than 24% but not more than 70% may be transported in retail packaging, not exceeding 5 liters, provided that the total amount of alcohol per passenger does not exceed the established limit.
  2. Items that may pose a danger to the health of passengers, crew or the safety of the plane. For example, weapons, ammunition, gases, flammable liquids, fireworks, paints, coating materials, acetone.
  3. Acids, alkalis, corrosive or bleaching agents, aerosols, radioactive materials, poisons, and other chemical or toxic substances.
  4. Contaminated blood, bacteria, viruses and other infectious or biohazardous materials.

Hand luggage

Economy Class: Each passenger is allowed one piece of hand luggage with a weight not exceeding 8 kg and dimensions not exceeding 56 cm in length, 45 cm in height and 25 cm in width.

Business Class: up to two pieces of hand baggage. The first piece must measure 56x45x25 cm (or 20 cm in length for garment covers) and the second piece must measure 45x35x20 cm. The weight of the first piece must not exceed 8 kilograms, the weight of the second piece must not exceed 5 kilograms.

Does not count as carry-on luggage:

  • Outerwear;
  • Children’s toys (no more than 2 pieces);
  • Crutches or a wheelchair;
  • Goods from duty free.
It is prohibited to carry items that may pose a safety hazard and cause injury or damage. For example, sharp metal objects such as knives, penknives, scissors, spokes, manicure sets are not allowed on board the plane.

Animal transportation

Aegean Airlines allows the transportation of certain types of pets in the plane cabin. A passenger may take one container with one or more pets of the same species. The weight of the container with its contents must not exceed 8 kilograms and its dimensions must not exceed 20x60x35 cm. During the flight it is forbidden to open the container or bag and take out the animal. Transportation of animals must be agreed with the airline at least 24 hours before the flight.

Animals weighing more than 8 kilograms are allowed in the baggage compartment of the plane.

Guide dogs are allowed on board the plane at no charge and must meet the following transportation requirements:

  • The passenger must present the necessary documents for transportation of a guide dog.
  • The pet must be wearing a collar and muzzle, tied to the seat at the feet of the client it is accompanying.
